The largest of all salmon species, recognized for its high oil content, succulent texture and rich flavor.
Also called chinook or spring salmon.
4- to 7-year life cycle.
Whole fish generally range in weight from 5 to 40 pounds, with dressed, head-off fish weighing 4 to 35 pounds.
Caught by troll, gillnet and seine.
